Meredith opened her eyes and looked around the room. She felt empty and alone. She missed Derek, She needed him. She thought back to the night before, and what had transpired. Derek said he loved her, he wanted to marry her, and all she could say was I need time. When Meredith sat up she realised the time had come. She wanted it all and she wanted it with Derek.

Cristina knocked on the door and Meredith appeared. "I'm ready" Meredith said excitedly. "oh great, here we go. ready for what Mer", replied Cristina. "For Derek" said Mer. They turned around and walked to the car. Meredith was determined that today would be the day.

At Seattle Grace, Derek was in the cafeteria with Mark. Derek was explaining to Mark what had happened with Merdith. "tough break man" said Mark. They looked up and saw Meredith and cristina walking in. Derek stood up and went to walk away. "Derek" called Meredith, "wait". Derek stopped and turned around, "Meredith, I told you I can't wait. I love you. You are my all, but I just can't wait. I want to get married I want to have babies. I want a life." "So do I" replied Meredith. " I just told you I can't wait anymore....what did you say?" asked Derek. " I want to have your babies and I want to marry you. I want it all with you. I am ready. I am ready to be your all..."

"Your sure about this?" asked Derek. "Iam" replied Meredith "I really am, I dont want to grow old and die alone like my mother, she deserved better and so do I".

"So were really gonna do this" says Derek. "Yes, we really are. I am so ready" replied Meredith. They hug and then Derek Kisses her. "I love you" he says. "I love you too" Meredith says coyly.

Meredith went in search of Cristina, Izzie and Callie, to tell them the good news and to start the planning. "Cristina" called Meredith. "there you are we have been looking everywhere for you" said Cristina " we have a bowel obstruction in 108, we are going in to surgery, wanna scrub in". "um, yeah, sure why not. But first I need to speak to you, I have news!". " Great, what has Mcdreamy done now? another wife? Another sister in disguise?..." Meredith interrupts "No, We are... well... we are um.." " Meredith would you just spit it out, I need to cut someone open, come on". "Okay, okay, Well we are getting Married." she said "I love him, I don't want to wait anymore, any issues I have we can work out together." "okay" replies Cristina, " so you are gonna be Mrs Mcdreamy.... FINALLY!" Cris hugs Mere, and congratulates her. "I am so happy for you, I really am.."

Cristina drifts off into her thoughts. She loves Burke and he left. How would she cope with another marriage so soon after her disastrous day. He hadn't been back since then, would he come to stand beside Derek? What would happen if he did?.
Mere and Cristina had found Izzie and Callie and filled them in on the news. The girls were all so excited. They knew it would happen, eventually they just didn't know when. " I want you all beside me will you do it?" Says Meredith "Of course we will" said Izzie. "Yeah I definately will" says Callie, then Callie looks down at her stomach and says " will you still want me if I look like a whale?". The girls look at Callie and say " oh honey, you are not fat, your gorgeous...." Callie stops them and says "I have to tell you something". "Callie, what's going on" says Meredith. " Mark and I we.... Were pregnant!" says Callie.

Izzie, Meredith, and Cristina all look at each other. Meredith steps forward and hugs Callie. " I am so happy for you. I know how much both of you want this". Izzie chuckles to herself, glad that George is not the father. Not as much as she had of been, a couple of months ago when they were still together, but now he was still her bestfriend and no-one was going to get in the way of that. She congratulated Callie and then decided it was time to let george know...

Derek picked up the phone and dialled Preston. "Hello, Preston Burke how can I help you?" "Hello Preston, it's Derek" "Derek how are you?" " I am wonderful preston, just wonderful" "Glad to hear it mate, what can I do for you?" " Come back to Seattle" "Derek, you know I can't do that" "Preston just shut up and listen for a minute...Meredith and I, we are getting Married. She said yes, she wants to marry me and I want you as my best man" " Derek, I dont think it's a good idea, but I will do it for you, for you I will be there". "Thanks Preston, I will call you soon with details". As they hung up their phones they both had the same thing oon their minds... Cristina. Derek was thinking oof ways to get them back together, while Preston was remembering the look on her face when he left her and how he really wished he had never left her side.
