Who's leaving Grey's?
Grey's Anatomy fans won't see Dr Burke (Isaiah Washington) or Addison (Kate Walsh) walking the halls of Seattle Grace Hospital when the series returns to Australian screens later this year, and now it looks like another cast member might be leaving the hit series.

Rumour has it that Sandra Oh, who plays cranky doctor Cristina, is departing the hospital soap - but that's not all. When asked about the rumour, TV Guide gossip Michael Ausiello said he couldn't verify its accuracy, and then dropped an even bigger bombshell:

"What I can verify is that someone - and a major someone at that - wants to be discharged from Seattle Grace, and stat," Ausiello wrote, adding that as far as he can tell, that someone is not Sandra Oh.

So who could it be? At the end of season three Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey complained that it had been "boring" to do, because his character's relationship with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) had grown stale.

The rumour mill also speculates that Katherine Heigl might be the one who's thinking of leaving the series, buoyed by leading roles in the films 27 Dresses and Knocked Up.

Ausiello added that a planned cameo by Dawson's Creek star Joshua Jackson has been "delayed indefinitely" by the writers strike, but assured fans that Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes is keen to "shoehorn" Jackson into the series the moment the strike ends.

This is the first time I have heard that someone is leaving...that sucks..I dont want anyone "big" leaving now.

well, first it is ausiello, so you can't really completely believe it, but my money would be on Katie Heigl if anyone was leaving. i think, from interviews, that she is a little tired of her character and her film career is kind of taking off and she has her production company now. if we are to believe ausiello, it is NOT sandra oh. and PD said in a very recent interview that he will fulfill his contract and then when it is up he will reassess where the character is and then decide from there. katie is the one i logically see it being. i think anyone leaving at this point would leave a hole in the show, but i guess if we were to lose someone i would be ok with katie. she isn't my favorite person on or off screen right now, plus, she is doing very very well now, if she leaves she will be just fine! and i think it would be better for her than IW because it will be her choice. so, my money, if ANYONE is leaving, that it would be katie. but remember, these are just rumors . . . for now
